Glass Cooker Splashback Project

Brenda C sent us this message to ask if we could help:

I am having new kitchen worktops and was going to have a glass splashback across the cooker wall. I have decided to use two landscape photos placed somehow in the glass splashbacks but details have to be obviously pretty exact.

Would you be interested in creating the photo panorama for the glass manufacturers. It would consist of one landscape view, one central portrait view above the cooker and another landscape view. The photos to be used are of The Solent looking across to the IOW with sailing club yachts. Blue sky with few clouds, blue sea and the yachts have their dark blue spinnaker sails open. Obviously, sky, sea etc have to be in alignment with one another.

We have done this kind of bespoke project before and told Brenda we would be very happy to help. Brenda’s  photos above show the original photographs we were supplied with and the finished result. We increased the proportions to allow for the exact placing of the power point positions which meant more sea was required.

Brenda was very happy with the finished result achieved by us and the glass manufacturing company, and sent us this feedback on the final splashback:

Everyone has loved the splashback with not one negative comment. Most comments are ‘Wow’. I love it and every time I go into the kitchen, it looks so clean and bright. I am also pleased that the upstand removes enough of the sea to balance the yachts being so high. Now you have added my splashback on your new website, I have sent the web page link to many friends.

I don’t know how you did it but it was exactly how I wanted it. I have been trying to find each of the yachts from my photos but have given up trying to find them now!

The Impossible Made Possible

Holly asked me to create this photograph for her mum.

She left this review on Google:

Richard at Photographs Forever blended three photographs together for me of my mum with myself and two sisters, one who sadly passed away when she was a baby before my second sister was born. It’s a photograph that would have been impossible to do but my mum wished she had a photo of us all together and now she does. It made her cry and is the sort of thing that is absolutely priceless and means so much. Richard stayed in touch the whole time and his communication was second to none. Such a professional service and very reasonably priced too. Will definitely be using him again!

Combining Photos to Create a New Photograph

My customer had two photographs of the subject in different uniforms, taken by flash with the camera set to the wrong shutter speed so half of each photo was black.

I removed just the subject from each photo, restored the images and then replaced the background in order for the finished article to look more suitable.

Make Your Favourite Photos Great!

Here are a couple of examples of photographs we altered recently to make special photographs even more special.

The photo below was taken in a ski resort but with a fence as a background, I added the ski resort.

Below are the two original photographs, with favourite photos both with portaloos in the background!

So I took the best portrait of each person and put them together on a background of the favourite walk they used to take together.

A lovely reminder of good times.

Dad With His Two Sons Around The Same Age

I was asked to to combine three very low quality photographs so that there was a single photograph of the father with his two sons all around the same age.

I had to increase all the file sizes, restore the photographs, remove backgrounds and the lanyard, match the scale of each person, add Dad’s shoulders, find a different background and then put the composite image together to create the final result. Here’s the before and after.

Photo Montage of the Months Leading to Birth of Baby

My customers Bart and his wife Ania contacted me with a project to make a montage of photographs taken during Ania’s pregnancy.
Here are the original photographs and the final result after having matched tone, scale and lighting of each original print, then removed all the colour except the baby’s shoes!

“We had been taking pictures of Ania each month of her pregnancy to see how much she would be changing. Each picture was taken in the same pose, wearing the same clothes and at the same place. Somewhere in between we had moved houses and the background had changed. We made a decision that all ten pictures should be composed in one panoramic view with a neutral background. Richard from Photographs Forever gave us professional advise and was in contact through each step of the process. We decided to print it in black and white with spot colour accentuating the baby shoes, which had been given to me as  a present by my wife right after she found out that we were having our long awaited baby!”

Increasingly popular is the idea of having a collection of framed photographs in an area of the house. Here’s a staircase collection
